Conditions of Enrollment
Niagara English Language Academy (NELA) reserves the right to refuse any registration that does not meet enrollment requirements. NELA reserves the right to change start dates, programs, and course content at any time and without prior notice. Fees, dates, and conditions listed on the Academy website are subject to change without prior notice. Courses are available on a first-come first-served basis, and are available based on achievement of minimum enrollment.

NELA, its owner, directors, faculty, and staff accept no responsibility whatsoever for any loss or damage to personal belongings and property of students or program participants, or for any injury to – or death of – a student or program participant occurring on or off Academy property.

Students and participants must comply with the rules of the school as per the Student Handbook provided upon registration. Failure to comply with the rules of the Academy could result in direct dismissal.

NELA, its owner, directors, faculty, and staff (representatives) are not liable in any cases where NELA is unable to fulfill any services to which it is contractually bound because of weather, labour disputes, third-party incidences, and any other reasons or actions of others which are beyond the control of NELA and its representatives.

Participation in our programs does not promise, confirm, ensure, or guarantee your: a) acceptance to other schools, colleges, universities, or other learning institutions; b) access to volunteer opportunities, contractual work, temporary or permanent employment; c) achievement of specific scores on IELTS, TOEFL, and the like, or any other tests; or d) application to becoming a landed immigrant or a Canadian citizen.

Academic Document Return Policy
Applicants should be aware that all academic documents submitted to Niagara English Language Academy become the property of the Academy. The Admissions Office will not return documents, nor will it provide photocopies of them for personal use.

Refund Policy
Tuition Refund
Rejection by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC)
Students and program participants who are unable to obtain the necessary permits to enter Canada will receive refund to tuition fees less the $300.00 CAD non-refundable tuition deposit. The Academy must receive written notification of CIC rejection by students’ completion and submission of the program/course cancellation request form, and a copy of the rejection letter from CIC. Once the Academy has received these documents, a tuition refund will be processed.

Cancellation Policy
The program tuition deposit fee of $300.00 CAD is non-refundable. Should a student or program participant decide to cancel his or her registration, written notification must be submitted to the Academy by completing the program/course cancellation request form.

Refunds will be processed according to the schedules presented below:

Note: refunds will be processed based on actual week the initial course cancellation form is received by the Academy.

Accommodation Refund
The Accommodation Placement Service Charge of $250.00 CAD is non-refundable. Students must notify the school at least 30 days in advance in order to obtain a refund for unused Accommodation Placement fees.

Non-refundable Application Fee
NELA charges a $250.00 CAD non-refundable application fee for all its programs. This charge covers the cost of the Placement Test and the processing of your application.

Ancillary Fee
NELA charges a $300.00 CAD mandatory non-refundable ancillary fee (deposit fee). This additional charge covers costs such as:
a) Administration services
b) Internet access
c) Student records
d) One textbook

Terms and Conditions
1. All fees listed are in Canadian currency.
2. Medical coverage is mandatory for ALL students. Health insurance is NOT included with your ancillary (deposit) fees and must be paid for separately. Coverage commences on the first day of classes, and lasts for the duration of your study time with NELA.
3. Full payment is due 3 weeks (21 days) before the start of the program.
4. All fees are non-refundable with one exception: if your VISA application is denied by the Canadian Embassy, the deposit minus $300.00 CAD service fee will be refunded with proof of denial. Requests for refunds must be made within 12 weeks of the application date.
5. Under no circumstances will fees be refunded after the first week of the start of a program.
